2018 Athens, Greece Retreat September 27-30, 2018
Have a cultural, intellectual and spiritual experience like no other. Come back with new eyes. Bask in the rugged symmetry of the Periclean architectural wonder that is the Parthenon. When you visit Athens you will come back changed. When you visit with intention, combining mindfulness and spiritual practices with a week filled with lectures by local experts, tours of antiquity, authentic foods and drinks, you come back transformed.
We will meditate each morning at the base of the Acropolis, visited randomly by the mystical wild cats that love on you throughout this ancient city. Each morning I will take the group through a deep, experiential tour of an aspect of Plato’s world-shattering philosophy. You will have late mornings and every afternoon to explore this astounding city on your own (no superlative will do it justice), take short or long tours of the Parthenon, the temple of Zeus, Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon, the ancient temple at Delphi, or listen to lectures amidst the ruins about Ancient Greek myths, heroes and philosophers.
Meditation and experiential lecture each morning
Two day hop-on, hop-off bus tour ticket
Half-day meditation retreat led by myself, including transportation, to an island on the Aegean Sea.
Late mornings and all afternoon to explore on your own
Tour of the Acropolis by local guides
Complete and unlimited guidance selecting hotel, booking, and all the ins and outs of getting to and from Greece–we’ve got you covered!
Flight, room and board. The retreat is over a weekend, Thursday-Sunday. My suggestion would be to come a bit early if you can and perhaps stay after the retreat is completed to explore on your own for a day or twelve. For those not used to international travel, you will need a current passport, which can take a bit to get, so start early. One of the easiest ways to book flights is through a site like https://www.expedia.com/ where you can book your flight and hotel at the same time and read reviews of the hotels prior to booking. Choose a hotel as close to the Acropolis as you can, and I can help you do this, which means don’t stay in Piraeus–the port, don’t stay in Omonia or north of there–bad neighborhood, don’t stay in Psirri–that’s near Omonia. Find a hotel if you can in the Plaka or Acropolis areas–Monastiraki would work as well–about 1.6 miles from the Acropolis if you’re up for walking. Expect to pay around $1300-$1500 as of this writing for flight and hotel for 7-10 days.
Our price for this retreat is only $400. Call text or email me today–it’s important that you book this early because places book up and prices go up. Just do this–there is nothing quite like Athens–this is one thing you will never regret. Let me help you make it a reality.
